FT Studio deliver high-quality, bespoke designs that stand out for their refined details and understated simplicity. We specialise in carefully crafted homes and sustainable designs, but welcome enquiries for interesting commissions of all kinds.

The practice was formed by two directors, one an Architect and the other an Architectural Technologist, giving the practice a broad range of expertise. Our approach is never formulaic, with our designs emerging from a deep understanding of materials, location and context, reflecting the local vernacular in a contemporary manner.

At FT Studio, we believe that each project should be treated uniquely. We work closely with each client to create one-off solutions that not only fulfil their current needs, but also create lasting value for years to come.

Services

We specialise in residential architecture with both Directors having spent over 10 years each working in residential architecture in Cambridge. We have extensive knowledge in the area, and have built up relationships with local planners, consultants and contractors.

We have worked with private clients on new build houses, refurbishments and extensions, and have also worked extensively with local developers delivering small to medium scale developments. We appreciate the heritage of a site and have worked on numerous listed buildings, restoring them to their former glory and also building sensitive extensions.

Our design process begins with collaborative idea sharing to gain a deep understanding of the brief and client aspirations, before producing clear designs to bring the ideas to life.

We cover all areas of the building process, including:

  • Brief development and feasibility

  • Concept design

  • Detailed construction drawings and specifications

  • Bespoke joinery and furniture design

  • Contract administration and assistance in the tender process

  • Overseeing jobs on site ensuring design intent is carried through to construction

  • Support through the snagging process once the building is occupied
